Red Wirecut
A vibrant, saturated terracotta-crimson clay body gives Red Wirecut from the Columbia Collection an authentic, timeless masonry presence. Its surface is finished with a delicate, sand-dusted wirecut drag texture scored by fine vertical fissures, complemented by crisp, square-cut arrises that hold disciplined coursing geometry and cast tailored shadow lines across extensive wall planes. As demonstrated in sculptural contemporary residences, bespoke brise-soleil screen walls, civic libraries, and urban institutional facades, it pairs strikingly with dark architectural metal arches, blackened steel entry portals, natural white oak wood doors, and expansive glazing.
Produced in Modular, Utility, and Norman formats to give architects complete geometric freedom across planar and perforated brickwork alike, Red Wirecut adapts dynamically through joint detailing. Setting the units with an Ivory or bright White mortar produces a sharp, graphic grid that distinctly outlines each brick, accentuating projecting corbel volumes, intricate open-screen claustra bonds, and soldier bands with bold architectural prominence; conversely, laying the courses in a matching red or standard Gray mortar settles the bed lines, quietly knitting the rich crimson faces into an enduring, monolithic masonry field with tailored finish consistency.
