Old Richland

Deep burgundy-red and dark roasted-claret tones form the rich clay body of Old Richland from the Columbia Collection, layered with heavy charcoal reduction headers and dark umber flashing across the face. A tactile, sand-dusted wirecut drag texture brings fine vertical striations and organic depth to each stretcher, while true, square-cut arrises cast clean shadow lines that preserve disciplined horizontal coursing alignment across extensive wall planes. An exceptional selection for collegiate campuses, traditional municipal buildings, and upscale commercial facilities, it pairs naturally with natural buff limestone, dark bronze architectural storefront framing, clear-anodized glass, and dark slate or metal coping.

Produced in Modular, Utility, and Norman formats to give architects complete geometric freedom across the facade, Old Richland provides compelling aesthetic range through joint detailing. Setting the brickwork in a standard Gray or deep charcoal mortar recedes the bed joints into the wall, quietly knitting the flashed burgundy and charcoal faces into an enduring, monolithic masonry field with tailored finish consistency; conversely, striking the joints with an Ivory or bright White mortar establishes a crisp, graphic grid that distinctly outlines each unit, pulling structural piers, soldier bands, and projecting wall volumes into sharp architectural prominence.
