Old Colony
Rich colonial burgundy, roasted cherry, and warm rust-red clays give Old Colony of the North Carolina Collection its enduring, heritage-inspired appeal, beautifully broken by dark graphite reduction headers and sandy cream-buff flashed stretchers. Its surface carries an artisanal, hand-formed appearance sculpted with rolling horizontal folds, shallow clefts, and gently eased arrises that introduce soft natural shadow lines while preserving crisp, orderly coursing rows across large exterior elevations. An ideal match for traditional Georgian estates, upscale multi-family mid-rises, colonial townhomes, and mixed-use commercial storefronts, it coordinates gracefully with precast limestone cornice trim, dark standing-seam mansard awnings, crisp white divided-lite windows, and dark hunter green or black shutters.
Supplied in a Modular size to deliver classic architectural proportions and disciplined coursing detail, Old Colony adapts dynamically across mortar selections. Finishing the bed lines with an Ivory or bright White mortar creates an energetic, luminous grid that frames each red unit, pulling projecting bay windows, rowlock sills, and arched lintel courses into striking visual focus; conversely, setting the joints with a standard Gray or warm Buff mortar recedes smoothly against the brick, allowing the rich crimson clays and dark reduction accents to blend into a timeless, well-integrated wall plane with understated tonal depth.
